The Port of Poole Programme consists of six transport schemes to improve access into and around the Port of Poole. The investment helps drive local economic growth and bring an anticipated £500 million of leveraged private investment in to the area.

Project Summary

Darbys Corner is one of a series of schemes that falls within the key junction improvement deliverables of the wider Port of Poole programme.

This investment funds the Darbys Corner junction improvement design work needed before construction may take place. The construction phase will be carried out/delivered by BCP Council at a later date.

Primary objectives:

  •         Provide more reliable journey times to/from A31/Port of Poole
  •         To reduce the risk and number of accidents
  •         Upgrade cycling infrastructure
  •         Improve junction capacity
  •         Improved crossing facilities for pedestrians and cyclists
