Enabling Rural Productivity Conference 2018

Enabling Rural Productivity Conference 2018

Friday 23 March 2018, Kingston Maurward College

The South West Rural Productivity Commission (October 2017), found huge potential for economic growth in our rural areas. There are many reasons to be optimistic for the future, if key opportunities are seized and challenges overcome. The Commission identified ten growth themes and a raft of recommendations, together with case studies of good practise which could be replicated across the south-west.

The Government’s Industrial Strategy (November 2017) cites the Commission’s report and welcomes the potential benefits from collaboration across the South West to address shared challenges and pool knowledge and resources to deliver solutions.

The Enabling Rural Productivity conference will develop the work of the Commission and seek to identify a way forward with Government to ensure that opportunities and challenges are prioritised, and resourced. The trailblazers of best practise in the south-west will be celebrated and engaged in workshops and a marketplace. Key Government and local speakers will bring the work of the Commission to life, and outline the challenge for partners in Dorset and across the south-west.
