The Dorset, Heart of the South West and Cornwall and Isles of Scilly LEPs are currently developing a Joint Energy Strategy and Delivery Plan to establish how they can drive the delivery of local energy projects across the three LEP areas.
The current phase of work is focusing on identifying a pipeline of projects and investments, including three collaborative demonstrators, each covering multiple LEP areas, for immediate action. The views of key local stakeholders are absolutely crucial in identifying and prioritising projects where intervention from the LEPs could make a difference.
We are holding our second round of stakeholder workshops at the end of January to share the key elements of the energy strategy so far and give you the opportunity to input to the delivery plan. This will focus on project identification and suitable funding mechanisms. We would very much value your contribution, even if you couldn’t make the first round of workshops.
The workshop will be run by the Carbon Trust, who have been commissioned by the LEPs to produce the strategy and delivery plan.
Why attend?
All regions are competing for funding and recognition as the Government’s Industrial Strategy develops. LEPs are being given greater responsibility, as evidenced by the Industrial Strategy, and they need to understand where they can best intervene with limited resources to support local energy development.
By attending the workshop you can ensure that your projects and priorities are understood and captured in the study, and that LEP support is targeted as effectively as possible.
You will also have the opportunity to exchange knowledge and ideas with other key stakeholders with an interest in the area’s future energy system.
