Quadrant2Design celebrates 20 years of success

Poole-based exhibition design company tell Dorset Gateway they are confident they will weather the storm.

Despite the challenging backdrop we have all found ourselves in right now, 2020 is the year that Dorset based business Quadrant2Design mark two decades as one of the UK’s leading exhibition companies.

Over the past twenty years, the company located in Poole, near Tower Park, has worked with numerous start-ups, SMEs, as well as large and established organisations such as the Bank of England, BT, Facebook, and Tesco Technology. During this time they have created over 10,000 eye-catching exhibition stands for businesses of every size and industry.

Managing Director, Alan Jenkins, said: “Of course, the current coronavirus crisis has caught us all off guard and many businesses will be facing an exceptionally tough time over the next few months. Like many others, Quadrant2Design won’t be without our own setbacks during this testing time. From the Olympics and music festivals to corporate exhibitions, anything involving a mass gathering of people simply won’t be happening for the foreseeable future - and when your business operates in the live events industry this is going to create challenges.

“But Quadrant2Design has contingency funds for such events and we’re confident we’re in a position to weather the storm and come through this crisis as one of the strongest leading exhibition companies in the country”.

Like other companies, they have had to adapt quickly to the situation. This has sadly meant a large number of people have had to be furloughed under the government’s coronavirus job retention scheme. These members of staff will continue to receive full pay while not working, with Quadrant2Design paying the extra 20% of their wages on top of the government’s 80% contribution.

Those who are continuing to work at Quadrant2Design during this time are still busy supporting clients postponing spring and summer exhibitions and managing the increased demand of clients wanting to prepare for their autumn exhibitions now.

After 20 successful years in business, Quadrant2Design are well-prepared for the bumpy road ahead. The company was founded by Alan and Elizabeth Jenkins from  their home in Poole, Dorset, back in 2000. From the very start, it was their dream to build a process led company that was able to create beautiful, yet practical exhibition stands efficiently. And that is exactly what they did.

Today, Quadrant2Design are now the UK’s exclusive supplier of the world’s premier exhibition stand solution, Prestige Event System. This means their talented team of designers have been able to develop a wide range of business-enhancing design features that are truly unique to them.

By 100% pre-building every stand at their design studio and factory Poole, before it is installed at the client’s exhibition, Quadrant2Design can ensure that every detail with a client’s stand is in perfect order and ready for their show.

Commenting on this success, Quadrant2Design’s Managing Director Alan Jenkins said: “Pre-build is hard-wired into our production and quality control process. It’s something we do with every exhibition stand. It’s the guarantee of our client’s success at the show.”

Although pre-building is still unusual in the exhibition world, it is far from new to Quadrant2Design. Even in the more primitive days of the business, the company’s founder Alan Jenkins was pre-building client’s exhibition stands in his back garden to make sure there were no nasty surprises for clients on the day of their exhibition.

The Dorset based company has come a long way since then. As they celebrate their 20th anniversary, their story is a timely reminder in these difficult times that Dorset is still home to great businesses who have been here for a long time, and which will continue to build on their success for many years to come.
