Born in Belfast, Simon moved with his family to Verwood as a child and grew up in Verwood where he lives along with his wife and family.
Simon has been an elected member of Verwood Town Council since 2007 and has been honoured to be town Mayor twice including in 2022/23. Simon is also an elected member of Dorset Council with Cabinet responsibilities for Economic Development & Levelling Up. Simon is the former Deputy leader of East Dorset District Council.
For the past 8 years Simon has worked for one of Dorset’s Members of Parliament as a Parliamentary assistant.
Simon is keen to represent the many experiences of local residents and businesses that have been raised with him as a Councillor and in his professional work to ensure that Dorset is an excellent place to live, work and visit.
Simon is also a member of the Finance, Audit and Corporate Risk Committee.
