The Dorset Skills Action Plan, coordinated by Dorset LEP and developed by Dorset’s Skills Advisory Panel & Board in collaboration with partners, provides a useful evidence base for use by any institution or organisation developing skills strategies in our county.

This strategy draws on our region’s strengths, prospects and challenges to ensure Dorset continues to deliver employment and skills opportunities that will enable its people, businesses, and communities to not only recover from the effects of a global pandemic, but also to aspire, thrive and prosper.

In support of this strategy, the Skills Advisory Panel & Board has developed a two year Activity Plan of immediate actions focused on talent attraction and retention, skills needed to meet demand and skills for future growth. Many of these activities are underway, with newly approved investment in projects through the new Getting Building Fund as well as Dorset’s allocation of the Local Growth Fund, made possible through our careful portfolio management enabled funds to be reinvested.
