Project Summary

A Local Growth Fund allocation of £124,733, with Kingston Maurward College (KMC) match funding of £76,978, has improved the connectivity of this college, increasing the quality of education and the capacity for students.

The completed Information & Communications Technology (ICT) Infrastructure Upgrade at Kingston Maurward College (KMC) is a perquisite for the college to engage in some of Dorset's emerging digital-led innovations such as the rollout of 5G and superfast capacity.

Student numbers have increased in recent years and are projected to grow further. In addition, the integration of KMC new Dorset Studio School and its shift from 11-16 to 14-18 education in September 2019 has meant an extra 160 students on-site. The impact of this investment will reduce loss of learners and attract additional students. The upgraded and improved college facilities will reduce ongoing costs, reduce risk of network failure, increase speed of network and improve customer and student experience.

This upgrade has enabled KMC to position itself accordingly, grow commercially and ensure skills development within Dorset is of the highest standard.
