Project Summary:

An estimated £200m worth of investment is underway at Lansdowne, Bournemouth, estimated to create a total of more than 4500 jobs.

£4.8 million of Local Growth Funding secured by Dorset LEP has been invested into creating a world class business district at Lansdowne, Bournemouth.

Outputs:

Infrastructure and urban realm improvements:

  • Improving street scene
  • Creation of public space along Holdenhurst Road
  • Improved walking and cycling links to the main rail station

Outcomes: 

  • 393 jobs
  • 1.7 HA land unlocked
  • 317 new/relocated businesses
  • £7 direct foreign investment
  • £121 GVA over next 25 years

Lansdowne Bournemouth has exciting potential for growth, both in terms of supporting existing businesses to grow and encouraging new businesses to start up, as well as helping Bournemouth University to attract more students to their Lansdowne campus.

This project has provided a connected and networked place for people to meet and exchange ideas with superfast technology. Walking, cycling and public transport facilities have also been improved to help ensure that future development will be sustainable.
