Aetha Design is latest company to benefit from Dorset Gateway's free bid-writing support

AETHA DESIGN LATEST COMPANY TO BENEFIT FROM DORSET LEP’S FREE BID-WRITING SERVICE

Poole based product design consultancy, Aetha Design, is the latest Dorset business to benefit from Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership’s free bid-writing service. Aetha was awarded a £25,000 grant from Innovate UK to launch TOTEM an innovative mechanical system that helps videographers’ film from vehicles in a safe way.

Dorset LEP’s bid-writing support service, delivered through the growth hub – Dorset Gateway - has helped secure over £1.7million in funding to Dorset Businesses since April 2019.

Kevin Books, Dorset Gateway’s bid-writing specialist said: “Aetha’s product is innovative and potentially game-changing. We’re delighted that our support was able to help them put a solid case to Innovate UK and secure the funding to take the idea forward. Aetha is another great example of the brilliant Dorset businesses we’re here to assist across all sectors.”

Aetha is owned by Tom Parsons and Sophie Godfrey and launched in March 2018. The team have designed products for global brands including; Aquapac, Cupple and Osprey and are popular with start-ups and SMEs looking to crowdfund and disrupt markets with innovative products.

Sophie said: “Dorset LEP were pivotal in helping us in getting our application for the CIF grant ready, their advice and expertise was second to none and Kevin gave us the confidence to apply.”
