Are your business needs being met by skills development in your area?

We would welcome your views on the skills training and future demand to inform the local area-based review of post- 16 education which is currently underway in Dorset. The focus of this area review is the further education college based provision. There are financial, quality, and future demand challenges facing the post- 16 sector and we would like to your opinion on how this impacts on your business and skills development of the workforce. The views of employers are critical in informing and influencing of the college provision locally.

We are particularly interested the following: how young people progress through the system from one provider to another; the effectiveness of those progression routes including on to employment; and how they align with local employer and economic need.
This is an important opportunity to shape post -16 further education provision for learners and employers in the local area and to ensure clear, high quality professional and technical routes to employment, alongside robust academic routes, and better responsiveness to local employer needs delivered by strong, high status, and where relevant specialist institutions.

Your views will be kept confidential but used to inform the thinking and recommendations for the review.
