BCP Cultural Enquiry

BCP Cultural Enquiry

Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is a proud supporter of the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Cultural Enquiry.

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole have a widespread appreciation for arts and culture. There is huge potential, the challenge is realising it. The area is privileged to host top quality blue-chip arts organisations and a vibrant network of artists and performers. There is a strong shared commitment on the part of the key institutions that arts and culture can contribute so much more to our community and its future.

The enquiry is being jointly funded by Dorset LEP and seven other partners, which is being matched by funding from Arts Council England.

Dorset LEP Director, Lorna Carver is on the steering group helping to deliver upon this potential. Culture cropped up a number of times at recent Dorset LEP Local Industrial Strategy events and it’s an area we’re looking to address, starting with this BCP Cultural Enquiry.

The purpose of the enquiry will be to engage with the widest range of stake-holders to develop the opportunity for arts and culture in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, building on the great assets that are already here, and to articulate the benefits arts and culture can bring. Something we’re also looking to incorporate in our Local Industrial Strategy.
