Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has launched a new charter to help improve the employability skills of young people across Dorset.
The Dorset Employability Charter encourages education providers and employers to work together to help prepare young people in Dorset for the world of work and equip them with the necessary skills, attitudes, experience and motivation.
To obtain charter status, schools and employers in the area must show evidence of working together.
There are ten charter topics which they can gain recognition for such as: providing young people with the opportunity to discuss their future career choice or aspiration with a relevant employer; helping young people to understand the different opportunities that come from being employed, self-employed and entrepreneurship; and providing information about current and future labour market trends.
The scheme is being rolled-out across Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset with the following having already achieved charter status:
