Industrial Challenges - STEAMLab Event

Industrial Challenges - STEAMLab Event

Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and Bournemouth University (BU) will be running an ‘Industrial Challenges’ STEAMLab on the 27th February 2019, 9:00-13:00, Talbot Campus. The event is aimed at helping local industry develop an Innovate UK or Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund R&D proposal in cooperation with an academic; a vast majority of Innovate UK awards are given to collaborations. We are restricting the event to 30 places so please express your interest by 15th February.

What is a STEAMLab?

The STEAMLabs (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) offer the opportunity to meet new people from all disciplines and sectors, and to spend dedicated time developing novel ideas for research projects. It is a facilitated session with the primary intention of developing innovative research ideas, which also enables the development of networks.

As part of the event day, we will be looking to help those who are already collaborating, or those who wish to collaborate, develop their ideas and strengthen proposals.

For local businesses looking to attend, we are asking that you provide the following information:

1)      your name/organisation name; and

2)      an indication of what R&D you are looking to develop, to the following address gateway@bournemouth.ac.uk. This will be used to help ensure some of the correct academic expertise is brought into the room.

The STEAMLab will include an expert bid writing support to provide help shape research ideas into a credible application. If you have any questions, please contact Ehren Milner, Knowledge Exchange Adviser at BU.

If you are a local business or enterprise looking to collaborate on an innovative project or idea and are interested in finding out more about accessing Innovate UK funding, please sign-up.
