Delivered by Dorset LEP, Dorset Careers Hub helps young people in the region progress into promising careers and fulfil their potential by improving the careers education they receive. Dorset Careers Hub shapes the future talent available to the Dorset economy by promoting growth industries and accurate economic information to schools and colleges, and by giving young people the opportunity to engage in meaningful ways with the wide variety of exciting business and career pathways available to them in the county. Dorset Careers Hub also champions important issues with government, is focused on driving the economic growth of Dorset and controls an investment programme of around £250 million. Working in partnership with local government, businesses, educational institutions and other public, private and community sector organisations, we keep Dorset firmly on the map.

This new role has been created to lead the Dorset Careers Hub and Enterprise Adviser Network programme in Dorset, working with 78 schools and colleges, universities, training providers, employers and careers professionals. This post is responsible for creating the vision, set and direct the long-term strategic plan for Dorset Careers Hub with clearly defined and measurable outcomes that evidence sustained change in careers provision for all young people. The postholder will be expected to lead and drive cross-sector engagement and collaboration to ensure all young people can access  high-quality careers and enterprise education, aligned with our economic and skills priorities, improving career outcomes and achieving sustainable change in careers provision at a local and national level.

This is a new role that will work alongside our Enterprise Coordinators. This post will provide all aspects of administrative support which will often require establishing links with a variety of local stakeholders including educational establishments, businesses, and local government and nurture relationships with schools and businesses in the local area.

This is new role has responsibility for supporting our Enterprise Advisers, leading strategic employer relationships, particularly with our Cornerstone Employers to support and understand local needs, target disadvantage and build sustainable relationships. This position will ensure we maximise employer encounters across a wide range of sectors and utilise existing communication and marketing channels in order to engage with key local stakeholders, promoting opportunities for young people to learn more about apprenticeships and vocational training.
