OH20: Aquaculture Expo Commercial Solutions to Global Problems

Dorset LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership) is organising and hosting the UK’s first One Health Aquaculture Expo at the historic conference centre at Kingston Maurward College, Dorchester, Dorset, DT2 8PY on 4th March 2020. 8:30am start for registration and breakfast.

This fully-funded event provides a showcase for green/clean commercial UK aquaculture businesses, with expo delegates also drawn from national retailers/buyers, the investor community, Government support agencies and the university sector. This event aims to generate momentum for national aquaculture to maximise yields and increase commercial returns while tackling the One Health problems related to food supply and preserving/protecting the environment.

The programme for the day will maximise B2B networking, the development of new collaborations, and the opportunity to learn more about what aquaculture can do for us, consumers and our planet.

  • UK registered aquaculture businesses that promote sustainable/green aquaculture, whether that be innovations in aqua-tech or directly in food production
  • Retailers with an interest in sustainably sourced aquaculture innovation/food stuff
  • Government support organisations with an interest in sustainable aquaculture

To raise awarness of this event and to create an ongoing conversation about Dorset aquaculture, Dorset LEP have launched #DorsetAquaBites.

#DorsetAquaBites is a Dorset LEP social media campaign which aims to create conversation around the aquaculture sector in Dorset. The campaign will raise awareness of existing business, point towards developing technologies and educate people on benefits that a booming aquaculture industry can bring economically, socially and environmentally to Dorset, the UK and the planet.
