Spotlight on inward investment opportunities in Dorset

Spotlight on inward investment opportunities in Dorset

Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership, in partnership with Invest in Dorset and Invest in Great Britain & Northern Ireland, has launched the first of a series of brochures promoting specific inward investment opportunities in Dorset.

The first two brochures launched this month highlight Dorset’s sector strengths and inward investment opportunities in Aerospace Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) and the 5G Ecosystem.

5G Ecosystem:

Dorset is at the forefront of 5G wireless communications technology plans and is spearheading the development of a Smart Place ecosystem including:

  • Gigabit fibre connectivity, public Wi-Fi, Internet of Things, 5G (low, mid and high bands) and a platform with an open, agnostic architecture that hosts ‘place data’ – enabling application development.

Aerospace MRO:

  • Already home to a growing number of aerospace MRO companies and associated supply chains, and with its own regional airport and Aviation Business Park, Dorset presents an excellent location for international aerospace MRO companies.

Both brochures, available here highlight the specific investment opportunity and offer, industry support, skills, training and track record, Dorset’s excellent national and international connectivity and what makes the region such a desirable and dynamic place to live and work.

Three more brochures are due to be launched later this year highlighting specific inward investment opportunities in Dorset:

  • VFX
  • Cyber security
  • Aqua-culture

John Sutcliffe, Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership’s Board Member for Inward Investment said:

Part of our inward investment strategy focuses on highlighting our region’s sector specific strengths and the opportunities they present for potential inward investment.  The information contained in these brochures are an important element in our marketing plan which will help to promote Dorset overseas and attract new businesses and employers to the region.”
