Innovation South publishes call for evidence to identify local innovation strengths

You are invited to take part in an opportunity to help drive business growth and digital innovation in the South of England, by sharing your expertise and industry insights.

“Innovation South” is a consortium of businesses, universities, and local enterprise partnerships in the South of England, which has been chosen to carry out a Government-endorsed Science and Innovation Audit. This will identify the region’s innovation strengths in Digital Enabling Technologies, and examine their potential influence on business innovation and growth in four of the region’s key sectors:

  • Connected digital systems, services & products
  • Advanced engineering
  • Marine and maritime
  • Bioscience

It will enable us both to champion the region’s current significant contribution to the digital economy, and pursue opportunities for new growth and digitally driven innovation as well.

In light of the Government’s recent proposals for a new national industrial strategy, the Science and Innovation Audit is a timely opportunity to showcase the innovation assets and entrepreneurialism of the South of England; and to make a powerful case for investment in our region and businesses.

To inform the Audit, we are seeking evidence from businesses, universities, research institutes and other expert stakeholders. We want to make sure we take account of the existing evidence on the innovation landscape – and we want to capture your intelligence and insight into the impact digital enabling technologies are making to the industries, markets and networks that you know best.

If you have evidence that you feel would be useful – whether this is data, reports, case studies or insights from your knowledge and experience – we would very much like to hear from you.

Further details, including how to respond, can be found in the Call for Evidence document. Please share this call for evidence widely. The latest deadline for receiving evidence at innovationsouthaudit@gmail.com is 17.00 on Tuesday 28th February 2017.
