Looking for Dorset’s business leaders and companies of the year

Looking for Dorset’s business leaders and companies of the year

The Dorset Business Awards 2019 is looking for the county’s business leaders, and best companies, to honour at its prestigious ceremony in November.

Company of the Year, sponsored by Lester Aldridge, acknowledges all-round business excellence, across all sectors and industries. The 2018 winner, BV Dairy, was commended for its involvement with the community and concern for the environment, as well as investing to procure growth. Judges are looking for local companies, or subsidiaries of national or international businesses with a UK head office in a BH or DT postcode that can demonstrate an excellent financial track record, staff growth, impressive sales results and a commitment to all-round excellence.

Grant Esterhuizen, partner and head of corporate and commercial team at Lester Aldridge, commented: “As proud sponsors, once again, of the Company of the Year Award, which recognises the premier company in Dorset, we are looking forward to receiving entries from across the county. We can’t wait to find out who is at the top of their game through the Awards’ judging process.”

Stuart Dixon, head of marketing and communications at Dorset Chamber, added: “Entering this category offers you the opportunity to showcase your business as a key player in the county and to demonstrate that you are a leader within your sector, as well as inspiring your staff and customers. It can also serve as a great recruitment drive, who wouldn’t want to work for one of the best businesses?”

Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership (Dorset LEP) returns as sponsor of the Business Leader of the Year award, looking for an individual making a significant contribution to the wider business community and the local economy. In 2018, this was awarded to Tony Lockwood, managing director at BOFA International Ltd, for his creation of a specialised training and goal-setting programme.

Lorna Carver, director at Dorset LEP, commented: “The Dorset Business Awards provide an exceptional opportunity for Dorset LEP to support and celebrate the Dorset business community.  We are sponsoring the Business Leader of the Year Award because great leadership enables businesses to grow and staff to flourish. This is vital for the local economy.”

Stuart added: “Dorset LEP has been instrumental in helping to secure key investment and opportunities across the county, as well as supporting our network of local organisations. This category is a great opportunity to showcase the great and the good you may be doing as one of the influencers within our business community or paving the way through your industry and setting new standards.”

The Awards, supported by the Daily Echo and Wave 105, are now open and are free for everyone to enter. Entrants will need to complete and submit an entry via www.dorsetbusinessawards.co.uk by Friday, August 2. Finalists will be invited to the Gala Dinner on Thursday, November 28 when the winners will be announced.
