Sara Uzzell

Deputy Chair of Dorset LEP

Board Members

Sara is Deputy Chair of the Dorset LEP Board and the representative for Equality and Diversity.

A member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing for more than 25 years, Sara Uzzell has spent her career in marketing and business development. For 16 years, Sara worked in IT and consultancy for major international business and public sector organisations. Before leaving the sector Sara was head of sales and marketing for Logica’s UK public sector business.

In a move from London to Bournemouth in 2003, Sara embarked on a second career. For 15 years, Sara owned an award-winning hotel and hospitality business. This gave her first-hand experience of the excitement and achievement of running a small business as well as the challenges and frustrations. Passionate about sustainable economic development, Sara is a collaborative networker keen to get involved in developing the local community and business environment. Over the years, Sara has been a volunteer non-executive board member for several organisations. As well as Dorset LEP, Sara is a board member of the National Coastal Tourism Academy and Dorset Tourism Association. Sara is now in a commercial role for the National Trust with responsibility for developing the Trust’s holidays business in Dorset and Wiltshire to fund vital conservation work.
