Strategic Infrastructure Committee

Strategic Infrastructure Committee

As detailed in our Local Industrial Strategy, our ambition is for Dorset to be a genuinely SMART place that is well-connected, allowing people to interact both in person and digitally. Dorset should be a place that is energy resilient, utilising local renewable energy sources.

The Strategic Infrastructure Committee helps move towards this ambition. It provides oversight of strategic infrastructure development and delivery in Dorset including transport, digital, housing, energy and green infrastructure and brings together key partners in order to assist in promoting integrated, efficient and sustainable strategic infrastructure priorities in the area.

Given the changes to the LEP role, Dorset LEP is currently refreshing its areas of priority and the leadership role across issues such strategic infrastructure and place will move to the Local Authorities in line with government guidance.  This means Dorset LEP will no longer be supporting the current arrangements for this Committee but we expect both Dorset Council and BCP Council to be in communication at the earliest opportunity with details of how they will continue to engage with business across these agendas in the future.
